[oh dear, it sounds like Kate is in more than she bargained for. what could be lying in store for our gallies when they walk right into the heart of Red Eye Lands? Brady looks as though he has something up his sleeve, well if he had any, lets find out what they are up against.]

Kate's Log:
I was up most of the night.
we were resting in a tent close by the wise mother's tent.
the stars were out. you could see Corneria in the sky.
I was pondering about these heroes of old. could i have anything to do with them?

I managed to fall asleep.
I had a dream of a monster, large and black.
its eyes were so dence, evil, piercing me to my soul.
...and the teeth.

"Kate wake up." Krystal said
I opened my eyes
Krystal was there, it was the crack of dawn.

"you seemed to be having a nightmare." Krystal said

I was breathing heavily.
"no, I'm alright." I said

"we need to leave." Krystal said

she helped me up and we walked outside.
the guys were packing some weapons and things given to us by the Sharpclaw.
Brady was speaking to the wise Mother.
"beware of the darkness, it resides where you seek to go." I could hear her say.

Brady looked over at me and smiled.
"you ready to leave?" Brady asked

I nodded.
he gave me some bread and a little meat for breakfast.
"we need to be careful with our food. it might attract things we don't want." Brady told me.

the wise mother pointed out the gate.
"head south east, you will find the gate in the heart of red eye lands." she said

Brady bowed deeply.
"we thank you for your hospitality. we will not fail you, we shall return when we have awakened the ultimates." Brady said

"and find out where the arbiter is." she said

Brady said nothing.

we loaded up and shoved out.

we began to thunder across the dry pains of the south pass. the grass was golden and dry. it was beautiful but you could tell they did not recieve much water.
Brady was quiet for most of the trip.
he looked as though he was deep in thought.

I looked at him.
"how do you know so much about this place, Smangladore and all these people?" I asked him.

he looked at me.
"I lived there for most of my early years." he said

"what for about 15 years?" I asked him.

he was quiet.

I looked at him questioning.
"you are hiding something." I said

"some things should be left alone." he said

"who are you?" I asked him.

he closed his eyes.
"just another man trying to make his way in the universe." he said

"but you could turn into-" I began

"I don't like to." he said

I was quiet for a moment.
"why is that?" I kept on pushing.

he looked away for a moment.
"lets talk of this later." he said

I nodded.
"okay, I am sorry for pushing." I said

he looked at me out of the corner of his eye.
"its okay." he said

then Slippy said something over intercom.
"hey I have something weird on radar, its close." he said

we slowed our tanks down to a halt.
we were not in a grove of trees, there were patches of dry grass here and there.
it was awfully quiet.
Brady jumped off the tank.

he began to sniff the air.
"leave the tanks, take only what you need." Brady said

everyone looked at each other questioning.
but they did as told.

Brady eased though the trees and we followed.
there was a crack of light, we were coming to another clearing.
he put his hand up to have us stop.
we stopped quietly.
"the thing is just in the grove here." Slippy said.

Brady pushed though the trees.

and there, was a massive stone structure. it was dark blue with green moss and other plant vegetation growing on it.

the others gathered close.

Brady sniffed the air.

Fox was looking at the structure.
"do you think, this is the gate?" he asked

Brady flipped his hand up, telling us to immediately stop.
we were quiet, the only thing you could hear was the moving of the wind in the trees.

then I heard it.
a very, VERY faint breath.

"they are close." Brady said
"don't move" he said quietly.

but Slippy quickly jerked his head.
and that did it.

there was a massive roar that shook the ground.
we struck nervous positions but Brady held his ground.

then out of the trees, five enormous dinosaurs, bypedal carnivores with orange and red eyes, they exploded from the trees running at us at full speed.
Krystal gasped in fright.

"don't move!" Brady said

they were charging, salivating and snarling like mad.

then the largest, leading the group, came bolting at Brady.
but Brady did something miraculous.

the largest Red Eye had its jaws wide open.
Brady grabbed it by the teeth and pried its jaws open.
he then twisted its body and made it fall on the ground.
it tried to struggle but then Brady let go of its teeth and grappled its nostrils and lered it so they were locked in eye contact.

"listen you." brady said, as a father spoke to a disobedient child.
"quit giving us trouble. we are only here to help." he said

the other red eye stopped and stood around us.
"what are you doing?" Fox said

"shh." Falco said to him.

the red eye was breathing heavily, but then slowed down.
Brady then began to stroke its nose.
"there there.." he said

we were amazed.

he began to say some words I couldn't understand.
he then began to make some growling and snarling sounds, along with some huffs and snorts.

he let go of the red eye and patted it on the tip of the nose.

it stood up and looked at the others.
he roared at them and snarled.

they looked at us and acted as though they were bowing.
and they returned back into the trees.

I was speechless for several moments.
then i could muster up some words.
"how... did you... do that?" I asked him.

he brushed off his arms and looked at us.
"I learned that on Smangledore, these guys aren't even true infected red eye, the redness in their eyes is caused by blood pressure and massive consumption of meat. these guys just needed a good stern talking to. these are little beasts compared to some on Smangladore." Brady said

Slippy just about passed out.

"well, lets take a look at this gate shall we?" Brady said

we got a hold of ourselfs and followed Brady to the deactivated gate.

we looked at it, not having a clue of what to do.

"well how do we turn it back on?" I asked Brady.
he rubbed his hands on it.

"there are inscriptions on it. along with words and instructions. a very old Smangladorian text." Brady said

"while you were on Smangladore, did you like go to college there or something?" Falco asked Brady

he looked at Falco
"you could say that... now just a second." Brady said

he took in a breath, then began to chant some words.
I could not understand his words.
he chanted for several minutes.

then, there was a light appearing in the gate, then a flash of blue and suddenly, there was a flowing vortex of blue purples and different colors.

Brady took a breath and looked at the gate.

"well, are you all ready to journey to this land?" Brady asked us

the group nodded.
I was hesitant but I nodded with them.

Brady breathed again.
"let us enter." Brady said
brady walked into the gate, followed by Fox, Slippy, Falco.
then Krystal looked at me and smiled.

she walked in the gate to.

I took a deep breath then stepped in.

it was almost like walking through a waterfall without getting wet.

I opened my eyes...
and what I saw... was unbelievable.
